Stephanie Jeong from Northbrook, Illinois, returns this fall to Philadelphia's prestigious Curtis Institute of Music to study violin. Since entering Curtis in 1997, Stephanie has been studying with renowned violinist Aaron Rosand. Stephanie is the recipient of a merit-based full-tuition scholarship, and holds The Institute's Louisa Knapp Curtis Fellowship.

The 14-year-old violinist began her studies at the age of three at Betty Haag-Kuhnke's Suzuki Academy of Performing Arts, where she was a member of The Magical Strings of Youth. Since then, Stephanie has performed as featured soloist at the White House and in China, in addition to annual concerts at Chicago's Orchestra Hall. She has also appeared as soloist with the Binghamton Philharmonic, Charlotte Philharmonic Orchestra, Florida Philharmonic and Denver's Aurora Symphony. In 1999, Stephanie won both the Philadelphia Orchestra's Albert M. Greenfield and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra's Feinburg competitions, which lead to performances with those ensembles in their 1999/2000 seasons.

When not practicing, Stephanie enjoys swimming and ice-skating.
