World of Children

World of Children, Inc. is pleased to announce Magical Strings of Youth, a youth performance group from The Betty Haag Academy in Chicago, will be performing again this year at the Hannah Neil World of Children Awards.

Back by popular demand, Magical Strings of Youth performed at the WOC Awards dinner and celebration in 2000. The group travels around the world to share their musical talents.

These awe-inspiring violinists have showcased their talents all over the world, as well as in the United States.

They have performed at Carnegie Hall, appeared at the Kennedy Center during the Imagination Celebration Festival, and performed at the White House during the holiday festivities in the East Room.

The students have also performed with the Chicago Symphony and the Grant Park Symphony and have appeared on National television shows including Good Morning America and the Phil Donahue Show.

Internationally, they have played at the Stradivari Festival in Cremona Italy, Moscow¬s Red Square, Tienamin Square in Beijing as well as France, Germany, Korea, Taiwan, and Singapore.

In the past, they have toured Australia and represented the state of Illinois at the American Celebration of Music in Vienna.

They have played for Pope John Paul II at the Vatican and were honored by Boris Yeltsin in Moscow.

The students were invited to perform at the 37th Annual American Academy of Achievements Awards Ceremony in Scottsdale, Arizona. The group was complimented by John Williams, conductor and composer of “Star Wars”, saying that he was “no longer concerned about the music of our youth after hearing the performance of the Magical Strings”.

The Magical Strings of Youth recently returned from Lisbon, Portugal where they performed with the Lisbon Metropolitan Symphony and played to sold out halls during their tour.

This year¬s dinner and celebration will be held on November 16, 2002. For more information, please contact Suzan Nocella at World of Children, Inc. at (614) 491-3633.
